Product replacement programme for COWM300 carbon monoxide detector with production date "April 2015"

During ongoing market and product monitoring tests, it has been identified that some detectors produced in April 2015 may not work properly after they have been exposed to high humidity for extended periods.

As the reliability of products is paramount for ABUS, we have decided to replace detectors from this batch as a precaution.

Checking the production date is easy!

It is easy for you to check whether your device was in this batch. There is a sticker with the batch number on the reverse of the device. Devices labelled "F4" after the three hash characters may be affected by the problem. Other detectors are not affected.

If your detector came from this batch, then we will replace the device free-of-charge. It's as easy as that!

Free replacement in four steps

a) Use the entry field to check whether your detector is affected by the replacement

(in order to do this, enter the serial number of your detector in the field. If you have more than one detector, then you can check further serial numbers using the "Add symbol". If you have more than three detectors, please start another replacement order via this website.)

b) Complete the contact form.

(ABUS will only use your personal details for sending your shipment; they will be deleted as soon as your new CO detector has been sent and will never be passed on to third parties.)

c) You will receive a confirmation email from us. Please click the link in the email to our logistics service provider DHL.  

(If you do not receive an e-mail, please also check your spam folder.)

d) Click to access the free returns form:

Simply complete the form for the DHL returns label, print out the dispatch label that has been prepaid by ABUS and give the parcel to one of over 25,000 DHL parcel shops in Germany, or directly to your DHL courier.

Please enclose the confirmation email in your parcel.

Please understand that processing, including sending out your new CO detector, may take two to four weeks after receiving the return.
